Tokyo – Bosch Corporation, the Japanese subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH, a leading global supplier of innovative technologies and services, will participate in the Automotive Engineering Exposition 2022 Yokohama to be held at Pacifico Yokohama from May 25 (Wed) to May 27 (Fri), and online from May 25 (Wed) to May 31 (Tue). Bosch will exhibit its wide range of products and technologies for sustainable, safe and exciting mobility at both venues.
[Exhibits at the Yokohama venue]
Japan premiere: EV charging cable
Recharging electric cars has never been so easy: Bosch's new flexible smart charging cable with integrated control and safety technology also does without the usual "charging brick" – as the bulky in-cable control box is colloquially known – when charging at a 230-volt power socket. This means the flexible smart charging cable weighs less than three kilograms. On average, this is a good 40 percent less than conventional charging cables with a control box. Because it comes with adapters for Type 2 and household plugs, drivers no longer need a second cable. Also, the technology integrated into each of the plugs makes the recharging process safe and reliable.
Japan premiere: 3D display
Bosch's display solution uses passive 3D technology to generate a realistic three-dimentional effect that allows visual information to be grasped faster than when displayed on conventional screens. At the Yokohama venue, Bosch will introduce for the first time in Japan a demonstration of this solution, which can express the depth of space without eye tracking or 3D glasses.
First time on display in Japan: EV solution - CVT4EV and new generation eAxle
Bosch offers a wide range of powertrain solutions for all types of mobility to realize climate-neutral mobility. In addition, in order to meet the diversifying market needs for electric vehicles(EV), Bosch is developing the CVT4EV, a continuously variable transmission with pushbelt that enables flexible gearshift settings while maintaining the smooth driving behavior of EVs. It enables higher torque, better acceleration and higher top speed. At the Yokohama venue, Bosch will introduce the CVT4EV and the new generation of the "eAxle" electric powertrain which integrates transmission, motor, and inverter with SiC.
In addition to the above solutions, which will be exhibited for the first time in Japan, the company will exhibit several components of thermal management system that increases the range of electric and hybrid vehicles by optimizing energy management at the Yokohama venue. Bosch is also introducing the entire product portfolio of vehicle electronics and software-intensive systems for future vehicle architectures on touch panel display monitors. This includes a wide range of solutions for driver assistance, automated driving, connected solutions, cockpit solutions, and E/E architecture.
ITK Engineering Japan, a Bosch group company, will also present its solutions including the usage of iVESS to test Driver Monitoring Systems, the Intelligent Charge Planner, OptiFit - the innovative test bench controller - and a V2X simulator.
Bosch Global Software Technologies will present its suite of advanced digital solutions and services to connected mobility. It includes Connected Car Solutions, Engineering Services, SVENTA - an AI powered sound engineering and diagnostic platform, Bosch DEEPSights - a solution that digitally measures, monitors and analyzes an enterprise's resource utilization and Bosch Autotrace - a Blockchain based solution for the automotive supply chain.
At the online exhibition, Bosch will introduce the following solutions:
・Automated driving enabler
・Identity Xtended (the next generation Perfectly Keyless)
・Interior monitoring systems
・EV charging cable
・CVT4EV
・eAxle with SiC
・Battery in the Cloud
Bosch will also launch a special microsite for the Automotive Engineering Exposition 2022 on the official Bosch website from May 25, 2022. Along with the solutions to be introduced at the online exhibition, the special website will also introduce information on vehicle computer and E/E architecture, Automated Valet Parking, Ridecare solutions and others.
