Tokyo — On November 25, 2022, Bosch Corporation, the Japanese subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH, a leading global supplier of technology and services, co-hosted concerts by the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, a German chamber orchestra with an illustrious history spanning more than 70 years, with the Tsuzuki Ward at Tsuzuki Public Hall located in Yokohama's Tsuzuki Ward.

Bosch Corporation was selected by the city of Yokohama as the project owner to utilize the planned site for the development of a Ward Cultural Center in Tsuzuki Ward, Yokohama City, and is currently building the company's new facility and the Tsuzuki Ward Cultural Center (tentative name) as part of a public-private partnership project in Tsuzuki Ward. Construction is scheduled to complete in 2024, and, after moving in, the company will play its part in invigorating the local community by realizing a synergistic effect between the new facility and the Ward Cultural Center. For this occasion, Bosch Corporation invited the world-renowned Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra based in Stuttgart, Germany, where the Bosch Group is also headquartered, and hosted the concerts by the orchestra, to which it invited 1,000 Tsuzuki Ward residents (including people who work and attend school in the ward), as a way to deepen cultural exchanges with local citizens, and as part of its efforts to contribute to community activities.

Klaus Meder, president and representative director of Bosch Corporation, said, "We are delighted to have the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, which has a strong connection with Bosch, perform concerts in Tsuzuki Ward. Even after construction completes, Bosch will continue deepening its ties with the people of Tsuzuki Ward and working together with them to create a lively local community."

Tomonari Sato, Mayor of Tsuzuki Ward said, "I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Mr. Klaus Meder, president and representative director of Bosch Corporation, and everyone involved for their efforts in making this concert possible. I believe that the relationship between Bosch Corporation and Tsuzuki Ward will be further strengthened and the future of Tsuzuki Ward is very bright. We also have high expectations for the new plaza with a roof between the Bosch headquarter building and the Ward Cultural Center, which will be a lively new spot connecting the north and south centers of the ward."

On the day of the event, a Family Concert was held for preschool children accompanied by their parents, while an Evening Concert was held for those of elementary school age and above. The concerts ended on a high note having been attended by a total of 1,000 people, mainly residents of Tsuzuki Ward.

The Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra is based in Stuttgart, Germany, where the Bosch Group is headquartered. Robert Bosch GmbH has long supported its activities. Also in Japan, Bosch Corporation has sponsored concerts by the orchestra since 2012. In 2012 and 2014, it sponsored concerts, to which it invited local citizens, in the city of Higashi-Matsushima in Miyagi Prefecture, as part of efforts to support reconstruction there. In 2018, it also sponsored a concert in Shibuya Ward, where its headquarters is located.

Bosch to also participate in "German Christmas Market in Tsuzuki 2022"
In 1990, Bosch established an R&D facility in Tsuzuki Ward, and, since then, has contributed to activities rooted in the local community. The company has participated in the "German Christmas Market in Tsuzuki" since the start of the event in 2012 and interacted with the children of Tsuzuki Ward. This year, Klaus Meder is scheduled to appear at the "German Christmas Market in Tsuzuki 2022" dressed as Saint Nikolaus. The company also plans to hold a craft workshop for creating Christmas cards using Bosch cordless electric "Gluey" glue pens at its event booth. Even after construction completes, Bosch will continue its efforts to create a lively local community in Tsuzuki Ward through various social contribution activities.
